Hi,
I just updated the plugin to Version 4.8.1 and now, the form won’t respond after clicking the Submit button. For eg. when I fill up the form and click on Submit, usually, it shows the message such as- ‘Your message was sent successfully. Thanks.’, but now, there is no response.
Please help asap!

Hello! I have used Contact Form 7 many, many times with no problems. However on my most recent project, I am getting the Configuration error “There are invalid mail header fields” in the Additional Headers. I have this field setup EXACTLY the same way as every other project I’ve ever done, so am at a loss to understand what the problem is.
I have Reply-To: [your-email] entered in this field.
Can someone please advise what the problem is. Thank you!
Regards
Melanie

In 4.8.1, there is an error in the URL where the plugin tries to submit the form:
/wp-json/contact-form-7/v1contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/XXX/feedback
Where in version 4.8 (that worked) the URL looks like this:
/wp-json/contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/XXX/feedback
As you can see, there is additional “v1contact-form-7” part of the URL that causes a problem.
I think we need to wait for 4.8.2 that will fix this bug.

Hi,
I have a form at http://www.hampshirechess.co.uk/contact/ and would like to style the drop down box to match the other form fields. Please could someone point me towards a guide for this?
Thanks.

The latest update offers size:invisible for recaptcha. But how do I implement this ? Just by setting the size to invisible ? Does it automatically know the ‘Send’ button is to be used ?
Some explanation regarding this is much appreciated ! 😉

Hello,
I’ve got 2 questions:
1. Just checked my page with GTMetrix and it says:
The following resources have identical contents, but are served from different URLs. Serve these resources from a consistent URL to save 2 request(s) and 4B.
https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-json/contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/682/refill
https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-json/contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/717/refill
https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-json/contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/842/refill
Then checked with Google Pagespeed Insights:
Leverage browser caching:
https://www.mywebsite.com/…ntact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/682/refill (Ablaufdatum nicht festgelegt)
https://www.mywebsite.com/…ntact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/717/refill (Ablaufdatum nicht festgelegt)
https://www.mywebsite.com/…ntact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/842/refill (Ablaufdatum nicht festgelegt)
2. I noticed that messages can not be sent when W3Total Cache is active (spinner spins, but messages are not sent). Deactivation W3Total Cache is no solution for me so I wanted to ask if there is any fix for this or if it works with WP-Rocket (I am thinking of a change from W3TC to wp-rocket anyway).
Many thanks in advance

Hi,
Nice update here, fixing after months a broken plugin…
But i still not see any support for people that decide to disable REST API ? This is clearly for me “Rest api activating bullying”. Lot of people keep your plugin but stay on 4.7, that is a so stupid situation.
i didnt expect a response since i didnt get from you the 3 last time, even when the community support the idea a lot.
Regards.

Hello,
It was not clear at all how to ad the tags for attachments. I struggled 2 days to get attachments up and running. This is what I did:
At edit form, first tab, I put this [file file-462 limit:20971520] (Yes I want large files)
At second tab > email > attachments text box I put this [file-462] And this part was not clear in the manuals.
And now it works.
Best regards, Bert

Im getting this error in the console: /wp-json/contact-form-7/v1contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/24704/refill Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ().
I’ve rolled back to the previous version (4.8) and it’s working without troubles.
I’ve no custom code added to the plugin.
Thank you!

Just upgraded to Contact Forms 7 4.8.1 and when users click “Submit,” CF7 shows the spinning “busy” icon … forever. As far as I can tell, no email is sent.

Hey Takayuki,
I need a bit of help.
We are gathering very personal info such as Credit cards and Social Security #’s. My question is whether or not the SSL is sufficient enough for us to gather this through CF7 or is there something else we need to do?
I started with the Bluehost who said that everything is encrypted from the filling of the form all the way to the recipients inbox on their server. So, in my mind it’s enough. But the information this client is gathering is so personal I just wanted to double check because I’m afraid I may not understand fully.
Can you shed any light on the for me?
It would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I get the following error when I try to submit my form:
https://www.xxx.com/wp-json/contact-form-7/v1contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/136/feedback 404 ()
{"code":"rest_no_route","message":"No route was found matching the URL and request method","data":{"status":404}}
I see similar topics in this forum, but don’t no if it is the similar problem.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

I’ll preface this by saying that the form works perfectly when I select my Yahoo address as the recipient (To field). However, when we’re using our business’ Exchange email addresses we do not receive the email, either in our inbox or even across our servers (as a blocked email), when we select our @domain.com email addresses as the recipient (To field). We think we know why, but can’t think of a work around.
In the mail settings tab, the FROM field requires that the email be sent from an email address within our domain or the field will highlight in red and give us the error message “Sender email address does not belong to the site domain.”
The problem though is that when we use an email with our own domain in the From field and the To field, it’s getting blocked by our firewall because the form is coming from your server (using our domain email) using our email domain name, and our firewall blocks that attempt, b/c it knows that anything @ourdomain.com should be coming from us, not a third party (you).
So the long and short of this is that it DOES WORK when:
To field = whatever@yahoo.com
From field = marketing@ourdomain.com
It DOES NOT work when:
To field: marketing@ourdomain.com
From field = marketing@ourdomain.com
To field: marketing@ourdomain.com
From field = @yahoo.com
Does anyone know how to get around this? We tried getting around this by installing Easy WP SMTP plugin to try to trick our server but this didn’t work either.

I have built an extensive contact form. My form has several text boxes as well as radio buttons and check boxes.
I haven’t been able to find how I change the message body in the mail settings so I get so that the contents of the completed form are sent to me.
I presume I need a different shortcode somewhere, but I have looked thru the docs and searched this forum and have not found it.
What is in the mail settings currently is:
Message Body:
[your-message]
And I get exactly that in the email (short-code included)
What should it be instead of [your-message] ?
Thanks!
