Submit wheel spins endlessly. Contact requests not sent

After recent update, the contact forms no longer submit. They stall with the wheel spinning endlessly. The only way to stop this process is to refresh the page (nothing sent) or navigate away from the contact page. Nothing sent. No messages appear.

The form used is the stock Contact form from Contact Form 7. No custom fields have been added. The system was running fine, with CForm 7 for several weeks prior to this problem, and no other plugins have been added since.

I tried with and without ReCaptcha extension. Same result of endless spinning with or without reCaptcha v3.

Contact Form 7 was installed with the theme purchased about 6 weeks ago for the site (postero from Opal), so I doubt whether there is a conflict with it. Likewise, the other plugins used are all recommended by the theme maker as being fully compatible. They were all running perfectly in combination with Contact Form 7 until less than a week ago. We are updated to the latest 5.9.6.

All unrelated plugins were deactivated to check for incompatibilities, but there is no difference with these activated or deactivated. We also run WP Rocket CDN. The form was working fine with this as well until this week.

Any other suggestions to try?

In the form I created in Contact Form 7, no content other than 49 words can be entered in the textarea section.
How can I solve this?

reCaptcha v3 + Usercentrics

I’m using Contact Form 7 with reCaptcha v3 and Usercentrics. If the user accepts cookies/ reCaptcha everything works fine and the user is shown a success message after submitting.

If the user decides to not allow reCaptcha and tries to submit the form nothing happens.
The console shows the following error message: “Error: grecaptcha not ready”, the user however does not get an error message displayed.

Not being able to submit the form is expected, but giving the user an error message would be nice. Other plugins display a badge that tells them that reCaptcha has to be activated when reCaptcha is not loaded even before submitting. Would something like that be possible with CF7 too?

Contact Form 7: Create or edit forms not possible – http error 500

Hello,
I want to create a new contact form with Contact Form 7.

Pressing the save button while creating a new form leads to http error 500. The new form gets lost instead of beeing saved. The same happens by copying an old functioning form and editing it.

The problem seems to be independent from thge used browser. I tried it with Edge and Firefox,

Who can please help me?

From Address of Autoresponse Mail

However, we noticed that the ‘From’ address is ‘WordPress <website@xxx.com>’ instead of ‘[_site_title] website@xxx.com‘. Please suggest how to fix

Submission Considered as Spam

Hey everyone,

I’m facing a bit of an issue with a form that’s supposed to protect the content on the attached page. Basically, users need to fill in some details before they can download the file.

However, after filling out the form, it returns an error message: “There was an error trying to find your download. Please try again later.”

After looking into it, it seems this message appears because the submission is considered SPAM. The weird part is that it only happens to one person among all the others who have filled out the form, making it tricky to figure out.

Just a note, the person in question is definitely not SPAM 😅

The plugin is up-to-date, and I’ve reinstalled the reCAPTCHA integration (the one in Contact Form7).

Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution?

reCAPTCHA v3 14K requests but only a handful of submissions?

We have Google reCAPTCHA added to CF7. Looking at our reCAPTCHA admin panel, there were over 14,000 requests in the last 90 days. Of which, 18% were deemed suspicious. If we summise that 80% of the requests were genuine, that equates to 11,200 genuine submissions presumably. However, we only actually have a handful of contact form submissions for this period.

What is causing the inflated numbers? The traffic is labelled “homepage” and from what I can see in the code, this relates to a label CF7 is creating when the script and its settings are output on every page:

Mangled URLS in Mail (2) HTML Email

I am sending an HTML email back to the user when they fill in some values on a form. The values populate fine and the email gets sent but within the email are some hardcoded links to content the user is recommended to view. When the email arrives these URLs are mangled and can’t be found, this does not happen if it is a mailto: link

For example href is “https://ANEXAMPLEDOMAIN.co.uk/article/&#8221;

gets mangled to

http://email.mg.MYWEBSITEDOMAIN.co.uk/c/eJxkyjsSwiAQANDTQMksm4WNBYUN9-Brook4Cej1HWur17zsamaWxWlGYDZoWS5Os012JlMmawOFoGnOFnAOKVVIkeXqEJCANcIFmFglk6kCRzKaCkMQBPtNnX3ktT3b0ReVmhoPubml99cppqtAL9D_DYH-044fcRt7Eejl4c4-ahUEscVwb1Gltsu3w28AAAD__6XkONU

This is irrespective of whether the link is on my domain or external to the site.

How can I prevent this and what is causing it?

Contact Form 7 not submitting when on mobile

We use contact form 7.

It works on computers and laptops, but it does not work on mobiles and tablets. On mobiles and tablets, the waiting animation is just spinning and nothing happens.

I tried to create the same form, but without the file field. I also disabled the captcha, but the situation does not change.

80 character limit on text box?

Hi,

Since a few days ago, all my text box on my Contact Form 7 forms won’t allow more than 80 characters to be entered.

Previously they had accepted more and nothing has been changed with them if anyone could offer suggestions on how to fix this please

Hello.
I am trying to integrate Aweber to Contact Form 7. I am following this tutorial right here:

So far, I managed to follow up until STEP 9.

For STEP 10 however, I’ve become confused as to how to proceed with mapping. My form at the moment is:

<label>Your Email (required)</label>
[your-email] - type :email

<label>Your Name (required)</label>
[your-name] - type :text

[submit class:button primary "Submit"]

But I am sure there is something wrong with it.

The instructions for STEP 10 involves tweaking the codes.

I’m sure I missed something. Can someone please help?

How to map CF7 Email Field with an Airtable Linked Field

When we Map ContactForm7 “Email” field with an Airtable Field called “Email” that is linked to a table called “Email” → An error ocurred while saving the submission to Airtable, Value is not an array of record IDs (HTTP code 422).

However, if we convert the destination field to an “Email” field not linked to another table, then it works.

Would it be achievable to map the input to a linked field? Or will we need to create an airtable automation for keeping messages linked to the Email table?
