Cannot get Contact form 7 to return hidden field value for Sign up to Mailchimp

I want to set a default value to my contact form 7, so when a client fills it out and selects to optin, the value “TUWTG Sign up” is returned to my mailchimp list.
The *|SIGNUP|* is a hidden field in mailchimp and I also want it hidden on my contact form.

I have no idea how to put this piece of code together, can anybody help me?

I’m using the Mailchimp extention plugin for Contact form 7 also.

So far I can signup no problems and the form returns an email and adds the signup email and name to my mailchimp list, but there is no data in the sign up form location field in mailchimp.

Can’t use tags in “Object” fields

Hi,

I want to use [menu-689] in “Object” fields but it return me an error :

“Maybe empty” in “Object”.

That seems to work anyway but do you know why it return error?

Prevent spammail from what appears to be sent from form

Hi

I am having a persistent problem of getting alerts of failed mail delivery or of mails arriving in the contact form designated email address mailbox, although according to Statcounter, these bastards have not been on the site at all. Another issue is they have changing addresses of senders + IPs so blocking any does not help much.

I currently have Aksimet (free), the other day installed Contact Form 7 Captcha and Contact Form 7 Honeypot in addition, apart from Wordfence which have always used.

Because of this, I have been forced to change the receiving email in mail settings before.

This is what part of the header looks like:

From: mail@mysite.de
Date: 28.01.2019, 04:12
To: tadasikanesige@msn.com

At the bottom of the email, default info showing email was sent from site contact page.

Certainly “mail@mysite.de” has not sent any such message from the contact form.

We set the contact form to automatically alert the sender their email has been sent, etc.

At the same time, I get this alert from the mail server:

This is the mail system at host myhost-mailserver.de.

I’m sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It’s attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

  • I keep receiving such junk and wonder what can be done to stop it.
  • I have all available updates immediately installed and no evidence any of the site files is infected, so where could the cause be? There must be a reason why the junk appears to be coming from the contact page even if these criminals do not visit the site.
  • I have all available spam-related settings in Plesk panel activated … what more can be done?

I need to mention the mentioned defenses effectively prevent logins/registration/PW-recovery, spam comments, etc and these have not been a problem. It’s the mail supposedly sent from the contact form.

I would appreciate some immediate help.

How to translate “Messages” fields?

Hello. I have a CF7 form that I display on my Contact page. In the CF7 back-end, in the “Messages” tab for this form, there are several fields, with text already entered in English language. I have now translated my site into Chinese, and would like to now create a similar form in CF7 to be displayed on Chinese version of my Contact page. Do I have to then manually translate all of the fields in the ‘Messages’ tab from English to Chinese? Or do you have a method that will automatically populate those fields with Chinese content?

I’ve read the page Contact Form in Your Language. But it seems to indicate that I first need to change the language of all WordPress admin screens. I’m not sure I want to do this in my case, since I do not read Chinese. If I change the language of the admin screens to Chinese, will I have to in-turn create a new form in CF7, using admin screens that are entirely in Chinese?

Hi there.

I’ve just added in a quiz for the user to provide the correct invitation code, however I’m having trouble formatting it so that it matches the other fields – I’ve tried copying the code through inspect but then that removes the functionality.

Is there any way to remove the form label and add in a placeholder to the “invitation code” field so that it matches the others?

Hi, I ask you for a little support. I need to send an information request to two different recipients, the choice is made with a drop-down menu. This is the form code:

Unfortunately, once the form has been completed with the choice of one of the recipients, the mail arrives to both. How can I change to make sure that by not choosing a recipient the message does not arrive at both?

I’m finding that suddenly I’m getting this error, outlined in orange, when I try to submit from my forms. The orange indicates that it’s being flagged as spam, but I’m not sure by whom (or what) or why it’s being flagged.

Any suggestions for resolving this?

CAPTCHA Options?

I have been using Really Simple CAPTCHA for MANY years and it doesn’t seem to be working anymore as I am getting a TON of SPAM through my webform. What other options are working for people using Contact Form 7? I see there is an option for ReCAPTHCA, but it seems that there are a lot of problems with that too?

If I can’t find anything, I’m considering looking for another contact form.

Recaptcha v3 side panel on each subpage

Hello

I have a question about the new version, in which Recaptcha v2 has been changed to v3.
Now, is it necessary to have the recaptcha icon visible on every subpage?
It would be nice if this icon appears only when there is a form on the page 🙂

can’t tick recaptcha box

I have 2 problems with the form:
1.
The recaptcha tick box is not tickable. But a message can still be sent and arrives in my email inbox. I would have thought an unticked box means you can’t send the message?
If I use a spam word like ‘viagra’ in the subject or name box it doesn’t arrive in my email inbox. So Akismet works 🙂

2.
After submission no message is displayed to tell the sender that the message was sent successfully even though in the Contact Form 7 settings all message fields are filled out. How do I activate that it shows a message for the sender?

>> I wonder if I need recaptcha or if Akismet will protect me from spam and I should just remove recaptcha?

Hi!

I currently have a form where I will ask two questions ‘Do you smoke?’ with the menu options ‘Yes’ and ‘No’, and ‘is the policy for you and your partner?’ with the menu options ‘Just Me’ and ‘Me and my partner’.

My form is feeding into an API system and I need the output from these two questions to either be ‘True’ or ‘False’.

How can I go about doing this?

file loader string not correctly displayed on mobile

hi, in this page https://ciceronesrurales.com/unete-a-nuestra-red/ we have a simple CF7 with a file uploader.

if you load that page on mobile you can see that the string on the right of the button is exiting the page leading the theme page to not fit correctly the display. In our opinion the string should be displayed on the bottom of the button.

Is a CF7 problem or it’s about the code we use to put the file uploader?

Multiple emails

Hello. I have a some contact forms on my website (CF7).

Most of the times, I receive 3 or 4 identical emails from the contact forms.

I guess is the user’s fault: maybe he/she clicks the submit button more than once.

Is there a way to prevent this?

Textarea doesn’t work on mobile

Hi,

I have discovered that my message field/text area is not clickable on mobile and screen width below 992 px. That means I can’t write anything in the field.
Has anyone had the same problem or does anyone know how to solve it?
