[Resolved] How to exclude empty fields?

Hi,

I have a pretty big form with several “Number” selectors.

I would like to include “Product name 1” in the mail if someone choose this product. If they do not choose it it should not be in the mail.

From Form tab:
<label>Product name 1</label>[number number-162 min:0 max:100]</div>

From Mail tab:
Product name 1:
[number-162]

At this moment “Product name 1:” of course is always in the mail because it is plain text. I understand I in some way need to add “Product name 1:” into this tag [number-162] under the mail tab.

How do I do this?

Can i use a custom field for the to email?

If i use contact form 7 in my theme, can i make it choose the to email from a custom meta field depending on the page?

I want to use it in a directory environment so for example:

/parks/PARKNAME would send the email to abc@abc.com
and then
/parks/PARKNAME2 would send the email to def@def.com

Rendering checkboxes as block instead of original inline

With the latest plugin update, checkboxes that were previously displayed in a single column (as desired) are now being displayed inline (and a mess).

I already had .wpcf7-list-item {display:block;} in the CSS — updated it to span.wpcf7-list-item { display: block; } per what’s now listed at http://contactform7.com/custom-layout-for-checkboxes-and-radio-buttons/ just in case that was the issue, but it’s still not working.

(This happens on both Chrome and Firefox, I’m on Windows 7 Professional.)

Please advise.

Google Analytics event tracking not working

Hi,

I set up event tracking for my contact form 7 and it isn’t working. Initially the event tracking was blocking the success message from displaying but I was able to fix that by removing the ‘Monster Insights’ plugin. The form submits successfully but the event doesn’t show up in Google Analytics. PLEASE HELP!!

The form pops up when you click ‘get a quote’ from the top bar or in the sidebar of any of the Insurance pages.

What could the issue be?

Serious issues – It will NOT send to domain email on same domain!!!!

I’ve used this plugin for years without issues. Now, there is a serious issue that has persisted for I don’t know how long now.

The form will send to any email but the domain email. For example, if the domain is exampledomain.com, and I put contact@exampledomain.com, it will absolutely not send to this email. The is a serious problem since I set this stuff up for clients and I usually have no way of checking the client email. If I have change out all of these forms it’s going to cost me a great deal of time. I can only imagine how much money my clients have lost due to silly error in your plugin.

Furthermore, SMTP is not a good option. I cannot count on clients never changing their email password. What if the client changes their email password 6 months from now and they don’t notify me to change the password in the SMTP plugin? Ridiculous!

I’d also like to add that this is not a specific hosting issue as I CF7 on multiple websites that are on multiple hosting providers such as Godaddy and Bluehost.

I have used this plugin on 50+ client sites now. I’m very afraid that many of my clients have not been receiving form submissions from their websites that are the lifeblood of their business. That’s why I say this is a serious issue. I can only imagine the grief this will cause myself and my clients. Incredibly disappointed in this plugin right now.

You’re using this on client sites, I suggest you get busy calling them and collecting an alternate email to add to these forms or switch them out altogether for something that is tested by the developer regularly.

Emails are not working suddenly

When we test the form we get the following message in a box with a red outline:

“Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”

I have two versions of the site (live and a sandbox), and I updated the sandbox to version 2.10.28. Neither the updated or older version is working. The database is recording the request submissions, but the email isn’t happening.

Please help. This is our main form of contact for business.

The form is on the top of our home page here: https://www.ballmediainnovations.com. and the sandbox site form is here: https://www.ballmediainnovations.com/sandbox and it still wasn’t working.

We have a separate contact plugin we use on other pages of the site, and the mail is working fine on when I test those forms, so I’m assuming it’s not about my server configuration.

I ran a test on my form inside the “contact” plugin. I’m getting “1 configuration error found”.

I found that under the “Mail” tab of my form, I had an error message saying “This email address does not belong to the same domain as the site.”

I had this in there: [name] <[email]>

This has been in there all along and it’s not been changed to my knowledge. I tried changing it to an email address from the website but it’s still not working.

“From” field

Good morning,
I’m using contact form 7 for long time but I still get confused sometimes and today I just want to clarify, once for all, some doubts :).

The “From” field specifies the email address of the sender, if the sender is the person who fills the form in, we don’t know who is going to fill in the form, right?
So why the default field value reports a email address of the site domain?
[your-name] <wordpress@mydomain.ext>?

Why I cannot use in the “From” field this:
[your-name] <[your-email]>
(it is considered an error:”This email address does not belong to the same domain as the site”).
In your documentation I find “You can also use another format consisting of a name and an email address surrounded by “<” and “>“.”. I tried using the email tag because I don’t know who fills the form. Very confused :(. Thank for helping me understand in this last day of the year :D!

Drop Down Menu Custom Emailing

Greetings All,

I am wondering if there is a way I can mix the dropdown menu on my forms to include a list of clients for example “Client A”, “Client B”, etc and when form is submitted not only will the email come to me as it is now but it will also email a copy to the client selected from the dropdown menu?

Currently we have some great forms setup however we want to change one form to be multipurpose instead of having to forward the email received or creating a separate email to the client.

If this can be achieved can you please specify the best way going about this, I am also worried about updates overwriting any customization.

I have a contact form on my page, but rather than just display the message upon hitting “submit” below the contact form box, I would like it to popup on their screen so they can see the message that it will take some time.

Incorrect display of placeholder text

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have tried to customise the text display on the “date” field by using the following commands:

<div class=”wpcf7-inline-wrapper”>
<p class=”wpcf7-inline-field”>[date date-185 your-from placeholder “Date From”] </p>
<p class=”wpcf7-inline-field”>[date date-489 your-to placeholder class:form-fluid “Date To”] </p>
</div>

However, instead of displaying “Date From” or “Date To”, they have displayed “dd—–yyyy”

Any idea on how to solve this problem? Or any other texting command I can try?

Buttons wont accept class

Hi im trying to ass bootstrap css to my contact form.
I cant seem to get my form button to accept a given class, i have tried to add the following:

[submit “Send” class:form-control class:btn class:btn-primary]

[submit “Send” html_class:form-control html_class:btn html_class:btn-primary]

[submit “Send” class:form-control btn btn-primary]

None of them loads any class except contact forms own classes… what am i doing wrong?

false syntax error help please

Hi,
In the first email definition, the To: field is set up as this :
[hidden-username]<[hidden-useremail]>
Both fields are listed in the list of usable fields above the form, and the form works.
Yet I have this annoying message just below the To: field stating in red “Ce champ a des erreurs de syntaxe. Comment corriger cela ?”

Hi,

First of all sorry for my english. I have a question about how to integrate Mailchimp with Contact DB.

I use Contact DB Forms and Mailchimp to manage my contact lists. I want to work with Groups in Mailchimp, and I need to know if DB allows me to connect the forms to a group in my list. I need that when a contact comes from a particular form Mailchimp detected it and segment it into the list.
